ERD Supervisor<\/h1>\n

The ERD Supervisor Course is to qualify the experienced emergency response divers to supervise emergency response diving teams. It also serves to develop leadership qualities as a prerequisite for ERDI Instructor.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

  • An ERD certified public safety dive team member looking to advance in a supervisory role<\/li>\n
  • An ERD certified public safety dive team member seeking skills and knowledge to assist an ERD Instructor<\/li>\n
  • A public safety diver looking to maintain team standardization and safety in compliance with OSHA and NFPA guidelines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Course prerequisites:<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Minimum age 18<\/li>\n
    • Current CPR, first aid and oxygen administration certification<\/li>\n
    • Proof of 50 public safety logged dives as a member of a recognized public safety dive team<\/li>\n
    • Current medical examination for diving<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          ERD Supervisor minimum requirements:<\/h3>\n
            \n
          • Watermanship skills:\n
              \n
            • 800 metre swim with mask, fins, snorkel non stop<\/li>\n
            • 100 metre approach to a fully suited diver followed by 100 metre diver tow<\/li>\n
            • 15 minute survival float; last two minutes hands must be out of water<\/li>\n
            • 500 meter distance swim non stop<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
            • Response diving skills:\n
                \n
              • Recover a drowning victim demonstrating correct procedures for handling evidence recovery<\/li>\n
              • Recover a small object demonstrating correct search pattern and awareness for evidence handling<\/li>\n
              • Act as incident commander in compliance of NFPA 1561 and:\n
                  \n
                • Assess and secure scene<\/li>\n
                • Brief and deploy team<\/li>\n
                • Supervise the recovery of small object, large object, victim recovery, and primary diver trouble<\/li>\n
                • Supervise decontamination procedures<\/li>\n
                • Debrief the team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
                • Demonstrate ability to safely approach and provide assistance to panicked diver on the surface<\/li>\n
                • Demonstrate ability to successfully complete a rescue of an inert diver from a depth of no more than 6 metre\/20 feet in black water, or simulated black water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
                • Leadership skills:\n

                  • Assist with complete ERD I or ERD II course<\/li>\n
