The ERD II Course will examine lifting techniques, encapsulation, a victim\u2019s death, as well as, physiological changes a submerged body undergoes, mechanics of drowning, handling of remains, environmental issues, full face mask and dry suit use.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"flex_column av-95com33-9e119dbd161f0e11bde3ab32a00b1118 av_one_third  avia-builder-el-3  el_after_av_one_full  el_before_av_two_third  first flex_column_div  column-top-margin\">\n<div class=\"avia-image-container av-kpfq91e0-2c777f024f5ee197646f9a7709b79839 av-styling- avia-align-center  avia-builder-el-4  avia-builder-el-no-sibling \">\n<div class=\"avia-image-container-inner\">\n<div class=\"avia-image-overlay-wrap\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"flex_column av-87za0hb-258bc24b143ec00a3d9cac7645d63cc3 av_two_third  avia-builder-el-5  el_after_av_one_third  el_before_av_section  avia-builder-el-last  flex_column_div  column-top-margin\">\n<section class=\"av_textblock_section av-7gfqpm7-940bd39b246d95975d75e0fd56b5b748 \">\n<div class=\"avia_textblock\">\n<h3>Who this course is for:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Any certified ERD I Public Safety Diver or team member who engages in rescue and recovery operations<\/li>\n<li>Any certified ERD I Public Safety Diver or team member looking to increase their diver awareness and skills<\/li>\n<li>Any certified ERD I Public Safety Diver or team member who is seeking the ability to enroll in ERDI II Ops Component training<\/li>\n<li>Any certified ERD I Public Safety Diver or team member looking to become an ERDI Supervisor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Course prerequisites:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum age 18<\/li>\n<li>ERD I or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>10 or more logged public safety dives, either training or operational dives, beyond ERD I with a recognized public safety team<\/li>\n<li>CPR, AED, O2,\u00a0<strong>AND<\/strong>\u00a0first aid certified or equivalents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What you can expect to learn:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Mechanics of drowning, including near drowning<\/li>\n<li>Physiological changes to human remains<\/li>\n<li>Crime scene identification and removal of crime scene evidence<\/li>\n<li>Encapsulation considerations<\/li>\n<li>Lifting techniques and considerations<\/li>\n<li>Advanced skills for dry suit and full face mask diving<\/li>\n<li>Learning decontamination procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>ERD II students will successfully locate an object, rig a lift bag and lift the object to the surface while maintaining evidence continuity. They will discuss the potential hazards and benefits of various lifting techniques and considerations for evidence recovery. Students will also learn physiological changes that occur to human remains and how to handle a body\/body bag. ERD II students should prepare to spend several hours in their dry suits, full face mask, and personal protective equipment.<\/p>\n<h3>What\u2019s in it for you and your team?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>After successful completion of the ERD II course, participants will be able to enroll in ERDI Ops Components, ERDI Supervisor courses as well as engage in rescue and recovery operations with their recognized public safety dive team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>ERD II minimum requirements:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of 80 percent on the ERD II written test, 100 percent remediation<\/li>\n<li><strong>Watermanship skills:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>800 metre mask, snorkel, and fins swim non-stop.
